ABOUT SIEMENS GAMESA

Gamesa is a Spanish multinational company founded in Vitoria in 1976. It develops new technologies and applies them to emerging sectors: robotics, microelectronics, the environment and composite materials.

Gamesa Eólica, specialised in the assembly of wind turbines, was founded in 1994. In 1995, it launched its business promoting and constructing wind farms. In 1996, it began operating its first wind farm.

Gamesa has its own wind turbine design and technological development capabilities, and integrated production facilities for the manufacture of blades, blade roots, moulds for the manufacture of blades, multipliers, generators, converters and towers. It also carries out wind turbine assembly (32 production centres).

Gamesa has already supplied wind turbines to the USA, Italy, France, Germany, Portugal, Greece, the UK, Ireland, China, Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, Tunisia, India, Egypt, Morocco, Argentina, Mexico, Korea, Spain, Hungary and Poland.

On 3 April 2017, Siemens Wind Power and Gamesa completed the merger of their wind energy project businesses. The merged company, based in Zamudio, Spain, and listed it on the Spanish stock exchange, offers a unique product portfolio of onshore and offshore wind energy services and solutions and has a presence in more than 90 countries.
